wilfredo-leonYoung defense/attacker Wilfredo León is part of Cuba's 42-member delegation to the 1st Youth Olympics Singapore 2010, to run from August 14th to 26th, with 3,500 athletes from 170 countries.

In Singapore, volleyball will split into two pools with three teams each: Cuba is in Pool B along with Argentina and Irán, while Russia, Serbia and the D.R. of Congo make up the other. Cuba is to play Argentina on the 22nd and Iran on the 23rd.

León is a member of Cuba's volleyball team ranked fourth at the FIVB 21st World League finals in Cordoba, Argentina. The team is also made up of Daniel Gené, Pascual Perdomo, Alejandro González, Carlos Araujo, Juan León, Alfonso Lamadrid, Gonder Román, Yulian Durán, Dariel Albo, Dubiel Gallardo and Nelson Loyola, plus Headcoach Rodolfo Sánchez.

Of 26 sports on the program and in addition to volleyball, Cuba will compete in diving, boxing, cannoeing, fencing, artistic gymnastics, modern pentathlon, rowing, sailing, taek-won-do, weight lifting, wrestling, judo and athletics.
