Artists from several countries will travel to Cuba from March 29th to April 2nd to participate in the International Dance Festival in urban landscapes, organizers of the event said.
The 22nd edition of the event also known as â€˜Habana Vieja, a city in movement', will offer a series of exhibitions of photos, screening of videos and visual arts, concerts and dance performances at the streets, squares, parks and museums of the historical district of this capital.
Organized by Retazos dance-theater company and the Office of the Historian of Havana, with support of the Havana Theater Center, the festival will foster professional development opportunities through courses, workshops, keynote speeches and master classes by national and international teachers.
The organizing committee said in a statement that â€˜Habana Vieja: a city in movement', reaffirms itself as a different and unusual event, combining the different art expressions with the beauty of history, architecture and design of one of the most beautiful places of the world.
In previous editions, the keynote speeches have proposed reflections on the development of contemporary dance, personal injury, choreographic writing, video-dance discourse and several researches related to the movement.
According to the director of the event, Isabel Bustos (a 2012 National Dance Award), the dance event will promotes the ties between the common inhabitants of the city with its environment through the movement, and brings a new and enthusiastic culture.
