Contributions about how to build a true popular power and the of the conception of Popular Environmental Education to this process, will be the central axes of the VIII Latin American Meeting of Experiences in Development of Popular Environmental Education that will be held in Pinar del Río from 20 to 23 of November.
Convened by the Center for Education and Promotion for Sustainable Development, belonging to the Center for Environmental Research and Service, the Network of Popular Environmental Educators, the Martin Luther King memorial center and the Network of Educators and Popular Educators, along with other organizations and social movements, the event promotes active participation, socialization and joint construction of knowledge from diverse Latin American practices.
"Like every encounter, it aims to get closer and learn more about our realities and the struggles for environmental justice. It is proposed to encourage reflective dialogue with a view to achieving greater incidence in defense of natural and collective assets. The accumulated experiences are our starting point for learning "assured the space coordinators.
Another of the intentions is to contribute to the articulation and exchange among the 80 participants, who will be representing their projects, organizations, movement members or networks.
The Elaepa is a bi-annual event that seeks unity from different identities and defends socialist principles against a continental context of hegemony, patriarchy, multiple discrimination and expropriation of peoples' territories.
