Inés María Chapman Waugh, vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers and Samuel RodilesPlanas, president of the Institute of Physical Planning, along with authorities of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INRH), Aqueduct and representatives of the Party and the Government in the territory , evaluated the fulfillment of the measures derived from the government visit, aimed at solving the problems associated with the water supply to the population and the confrontation with the illegalities.
Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez, president of INRH, explained that completing the workforce and the tables of the Provincial Administration of Aqueduct and its municipal offices is a priority today, since the correct administration and operation of the resources destined for the territory depend on its benefits of the service to the population.
He informed that they plan to work before the end of 2018 in the most defective section of the 36-inch conductor, where they will replace several sections of pipe.
Rodriguez Rodriguez said that, along with the Ministry of Public Health, the INRH decided to provide funding to rehabilitate the networks that reach the Psychiatric Hospital and the Home for the Elderly. This will also help to resolve the situation of the water supply on the Viñales highway, one of the most critical areas next to the Montequín area on the central highway.
Another project conceived before the end of the year includes the rehabilitation of the driver that supplies the Republic of Chile community. The start-up of the waste collector in this town is scheduled for early 2019, so that an integral solution is guaranteed.
In the check-up, it was said that Viñales is working on the repair of the pumping station, damaged by the rains of the subtropical storm Alberto, and will work on solving the situation that is created in the houses that are flooded near La Colchonera lagoon whenever it rains.
The vice president of the Councils of State and Ministers insisted that it is important in each case to explain to the neighbors of the communities each one of the projects, the scope, their costs and execution schedules.
Chapman Waugh said, that each municipality must have identified the most critical areas and operate objectively to ensure the water supply to the population.
"This is a service that is needed 24 hours a day, 12-day cycles in the city cause a very complex situation, because it implies that there are people who do not receive it in 15 and 20 days. Therefore, we must supervise the supply, call from the office to places with greater difficulties".
Pinar del Río has a total of 179 sources of water supply, of which 166 work and 13 are paralyzed.
In the municipality of Sandino, they analyzed a program to develop various crops, tobacco and other productions, which includes hydraulic works to make better use of the Cuyaguateje waters.
The president of the INRH said that along with it, the possibilities of reducing floods caused by the river in the community of Isabel Rubio are being studied.
On this subject the vice president stated that it is necessary to study the proposals and define the priorities to work according to the financial possibilities of the country.
The plan to eradicate illegalities until October was 660 and to date there are 662 cases resolved, although there are municipalities such as Pinar del Río and Sandino that do not reach the expected, because they have the most complicated scenarios.
RodilesPlanas insisted on the need to carry out an in-depth analysis in order to eradicate the illegalities, with a work schedule and real possibilities of their elimination
