Tobacco Planting Began in San Luis

With over 2 690 hectares of tobacco for the 2017-2018 harvest season, started, a few days ago, the sowing phase of the leaf in the municipality of San Luis.
The territory will dedicate 310 hectares to shade-grown tobacco and the rest to Vegas finas de primera, said Pedro Valdés Díaz, director of the Enterprise for the stocking and improvement of tobacco. In order to guarantee the sowing, the municipality is immersed in the seed scattering, an activity in which they have 30 527 seedbeds ready out of the 49 622 the stage demands. The seedlings have a great quality and the fact of having them in the territory favors a substantial saving of fuel. They also count on the necessary fertilizer and other goods vital for the sowing.
The specialist added that the have new equipment, over 20 destined to prepare the soil, and all the productive structures are giving services; meanwhile they work in the construction and maintenance of curing barns.
