Teaching is dedicating life to create, form and educate and thus was ratified in the provincial event for the beginning of 2017-2018 school year that took place at Tania La Guerrillera pedagogical school of Pinar del Río.
Magaly Pérez Gómez, principal of the school, spoke to honor Tamara Bunke (Tania la Guerrillera), the only female member of Che Guevara’s guerrilla in Bolivia, and referred to her example of internationalism, dedication and revolutionary conviction.
The principal also recalled that the center, that received this year 1 420 students, was inaugurated by Fidel Castro in 1975.
On the other hand, Marisol Bravo Salvador, director of Education in the province, noted that today, the 637 educational centers of the territory showed their best conditions to receive over 91 295 students. Bravo Salvador ratified that the political and ideological work as well as the comprehensive formation of the students will continue as a priority, in addition the main challenge lies in the continuity of the process of improvement, which will be put in practice in 10 schools of Hermanos Cruz district.
This year, the quality of the teaching-learning process, the preventive work, the vocational formation, the professional guidance and the work of the student organizations, will be top priorities as well, said the official.
The director stated that in that pedagogical school is the highest strategic goal of the educational system, since the model of the teachers the country aspires to is trained in its classrooms.
The event was presided over by Gladys Martínez Verdecia, first secretary of the Party in the province; Ernesto Barreto Castillo, president of the Provincial Assembly of People’s Power and leaders of political and grass-root organizations.
