Restoration Works for 150th Anniversary of the City Continue

The main authorities of the province and directors of the entities related to the restoration actions of the city, held a meeting to check the state of the works that should be ready for the celebration of the 150 anniversary of the foundation of Pinar del Rio, the upcoming September 10th.

So far, 21 buildings and 127 houses have been painted and this activity should be completed before July 20, the same as the rest of the works concerning painting. For its part, the repair of sidewalks and gardening tasks continue in the hands of the Community Management Company. There was also a proposal for sculptures that will adorn some parts of the natural separator and out of the main street. 11 out of 25 projects were approved, all elements that distinguish the city and made by local artists.

In the meeting was also announced the plan of activities to the celebrate the date, starting September 4, which will include parades, conferences, sport activities, performances of children’s companies and community projects, concerts and a cultural gala to recognize the work of people and entities related to the restoration process.
