Encounter of Generations

As part of the activities in the municipality of Viñales to mark the 40th anniversary of the creation of República de Chile community, the authorities of the Party and the Government prepared an encounter between youngsters of the territory and Commander of the Rebel Army Julio Camacho Aguilera.
The charismatic combatant attended accompanied by his wife and partner Georgina Leyva Pagán, and both qualified as an honor the opportunity to hold a dialogue with the new generations and for the occasion recalled transcendental moments of their lives, although the tone of the talks was more reflexive than anecdotic. They praised the performances of the members of different cultural projects of the territory and expressed their surprise for the quality of the interpretations.
Both insisted on the necessity to grow before adversities, in the leading role youths are summoned to play according to the demands of their time and in the importance to get ready to face challenges and do it with success.
In that regard, they talked about the obstacles they had to overcome in the initial phase of the implementation of the project of the Guanahacabibes Peninsula and offered details about it and how the sacrifice to impulse the task with love is rewarded by seeing the work that flourishes after that effort. A group of young students had the privilege to receive the Young Communist League membership card from the hands of the combatants.
In the evening the community celebrated a cultural gala and Georgina, who gave the key address of the event, noted the results of the work of the Revolution in the agricultural communities.
The speech concluded with a personal acknowledgement to Fidel and the event closed with a documentary that gathers testimonies of the presence of the historic leader in the municipality and the village.
