Aclifim for More Inclusion and Equal Opportunities

The need for a more effective strategy of communication, motivate the youths for directions posts and train the cadres, were some of the topics tackled in the Term Renovation and/or Ratification Meeting of the Cuban Association of People with Physical and Motor Disabilities (Aclifim in Spanish) in Pinar del Río.
Likewise, it was analyzed the work of the National Council for the Attention of Disabled People (CONAPED in Spanish).
Pedro Portales Pérez, president of the Aclifim in the province, referred to the importance of creating new spaces to visualize the lives of disabled people, as well as the work of the organization in order to be recognized as active members of the society.
Lourdes Pérez Pupo, national vicepresident of the Association, noted that Pinar del Rio has been selected as one of the most outstanding province of the country in the results of the work for over 10 years. In addition, the members have identified their weak spots, which will tribute to its eradication. The goal is to achieve a major inclusion, and we are working for that, she said
The event was attended by 112 affiliates as representatives of the 4 897 members and were selected five pre-candidates to the National Aclifim Council and the 18 delegates that will represent the province in the VI Congress of the organization, to be held next year.
Also there were chosen the 31 members of the Provincial Direction Council and were ratified Pedro Portales Pérez and Rubén García Basán as president and vicepresident, respectively.
