Guayabita del Pinar Factory for a Better Production

In order to continue to contribute to Cuban economy, the 33 workers of the Guayabita del Pinar factory celebrated this International Workers Day, aware of their role in the production of an emblematic product of the province.

In spite of some difficulties with the machinery and the raw material supply, especially bottles, the entity works daily in the production lines: the dry guayabita, similiar to rum and the sweet one as liquor.

Jesús Alberto Moreno, director of the factory, stated that thanks to the work of 14 innovators they have attained the goals of the center and have obtained an average of 5 000 boxes of Guayabita del Pinar per month.

In that regard, he added that they had to adapt the filling-labelling machine due to irregularities in the size of the bottles, hence the invention of an equipment to make the filling by hand.

This month they will develop a construction process focused of the repair of the facade of the factory in occasion of the 150th anniversary of the city and for a more attractive image for both national and foreign visitors.

The manufacture of a one of the kina beverage demands dedication and persistence of the personnel endeavoured in preserving the formula that since ancient times gives prestige to this land.
