Although the people from the eastern region of the country receive the sun first, we, the ones from Pinar del Río got up before sunrise not to lose the beginning of the parade in Havana, and also to start ours.
We have a lot to celebrate here, our economy is going good, there are mining advances in the northern part of the territory known as Santa Lucía, where the exploitation of the Caribbean Mining Company deposits is underway.
In regard to tobacco, we cannot complain, this time there was plenty and with a fine layer, as the industry needs and enthusiasts of the world expect, since we are in the mecca of the leaf.
We have accomplish the indicators in food production, new products are for sale in the commercial network, supplies are stable and builders are restless, there is no place left without a pile of sand, cement, walls being built, it is a constructive contagion.
Everything is being planned in advance, that’s why because of the preparations for the 150th anniversary of the city, the locals have plenty of places to go to.
Today, thousands of people of Pinar del Rio, from Los Palacios to Roncali lighthouse in the San Antonio Cape, are waving Cuban flags in a colourful parade.
