Ecological Honey Produced in Guahanacabibes

In tune with its beekeeping tradition, the Guanahacabibes peninsula produces ecological honey, thanks to the good management practice and training of the workers of the sector.

Bárbaro Prieto, director of the Beekeeping Company, explained that the derivatives of the product also have that seal, among them wax, propolis, and queen bees breeding.
In general, this is a year of recovery by increasing the honey volumes and despite the droughts, the month will close with some 55 tons, in comparison to 32 n the same time last year.

For 2017, the production unit of Guanahacabibes expects to complete 100 tons of ecologic honey, and its productions already certified have the distinctive touch of quality and freshness.

According to specialized sites, to gather a kilogram of honey it is necessary the work of 2 540 bees flying some 96,93 miles each in order to suck the nectar in 3 900 flowers.
