New Cigar Band Manufactured in Pinar del Rio on the Market

A new cigar band named Cañonazo Especial, created in Pinar del Rio and presented in the recently celebrated 19th Habano Festival, is to be commercialized soon.

The production will reach some 120 000 units and its manufacture will be performed by Francisco Donatien and Juan Casanueva factories, located in Pinar del Rio and Consolacion del Sur, respectively.
This year, the cigar rolling enterprise of the province expects an increase of the production of other brands Duch as Trinidad and Vegas Robaina, according to the rising demand in te market, an effort to be carried out without disregarding Vegueros, Romeo y Julieta, Partagás and Hoyo de Monterrey.

That entity shall deliver 4 450 000 cigars fro exportation, while the national market will receive 400 000 cigars, said Eusebio Velázquez Barroso, head of Development and Technology.

According to the source there is raw material available coming from the called tobacco growing region, which includes the municipalities of San Juan y Martinez, San Luis, Pinar del Rio and Consolación de Sur.

At the same time they are readying the details for the completion of a new processing centre that will be dedicated to the selection of wrappers, binders and fillers to make the cigars.

Among its benefits is a better and rational use of the supplies, reduction of expenses in the productive process and higher results of quality.

It will count on a rolling hall for exports with 40 employees, which will start working in the last three months of 2017, when the training of the workers conclude.
The enterprise of Pinar del Rio is also working in the certification of the quality according to international standards and it turned out to be the best of last year.

This western province contributes to the rolling industry with 50 percent of the exportable wrappers, binders and other components of the famous habano cigars.
