Cuban MPs to Discuss Nearly 80 Issues

Cuban legislators started today the debate of 79-issue agenda of the country's socio-economic life, prior to the Ninth Ordinary Session of the Eighth Legislature of the National People's Power Assembly convened for July 14.
About 10 top priority issues such as updating the Cuban economic and social model of socialist development will be analyzed by lawmakers in their working commissions at the Conference Center in this capital.
The 59.4 percent of those items correspond to the discussion of the results of checks and inspections carried out by the members of Parliament in the different territories.
Issues such as the behavior of services in railway transportation, investments to mitigate drought and the implementation of the policy for the development of renewable sources are of great interest in the program scheduled until July 12.
No less important are the discussions about the production, distribution and marketing of toys, the current state of housing, the epidemiological situation and the fulfillment of the program to recover the capacities of the food industry.
The legislators will also receive information on the latest sugar harvest, the industrial maintenance in the face of the technological obsolescence, mountain productions, job fluctuation in scientific personnel and alternatives for their protection.
